through out my throw out bearing
Installed a new CenterForce throw out bearing yesterday after only 1000 miles?!?!
I could feel the old one dragging along the transmission shaft while clutching and it was squealing. I'm sure I didn't have the clutch adjusted too tight as to allow contact while disengaged although that would explain the squealing. Originally an automatic trans, I upgraded to TKO600 5 speed and checked alignment w/ a dial indicator during install. Maybe I just got a bum bearing. I've heard of some people going w/out a return spring (probably because it's so hard to find a spot to mount) but I use one w/ a slightly stronger that stock spring & extension to ensure clutch fully disengages, to keep the adjusting rod from possibly jarring out of the fork seat and to fully return the clutch pedal against it's rubber bumper. It wasn't easy finding a spot but I finally snaked the extension through headers and drilled a hole in the motor mount to attach the return spring. I probably should use a heat sleeve on the extension where it snakes through the headers but I haven't noticed any rattling or vibration noise coming from there. photos attached.
