Default Thoughts on this Camaro

So I'm starting to look into potentially picking up a Camaro and I've found this car and wanted to understand what your feedback is.

1967 CAMARO RS PROTOURING FUEL ENJECTED LT1 4L60E TRANS

For the majority of well put together cars that I've seen, they are asking $35-$40k+

This seems like a reasonable price but is this a "too good to be true" type car?

Looks like a decent car for the money, and obviously getting it for less than asking price. Of course, once you inspect the car with a fine tooth comb, you'll know better if it's a good deal or not.

What are key things to take a look at? I am in Northern California so I'd have to fly down there to see it in person which is sort of a pain

May not be a true RS - no back-up lights below the rear bumper. RS front headlamps and their system may be an add-on.
No front RS turn signal lights in front valance either, panel below the grille.
Take along a frig magnet for detecting bondo in the obvious places, ie, fender lips, rear qtr panels, bottom frt fenders, door corners, etc.
Check VIN plate for the following birth - 123xxx is a 6-cyl, 124xxx is a V8.
Test every feature the Camaro has to offer.
Good luck.

It's an R-esque, not a real RS. "DSE hide away head lights" is a conversion kit.

I see a LOT of shoddy work on this one. The grill doesn't line up, wires hanging under the dash, crappy heat reflector for the ECU on the passenger's side of the engine bay, loose leather on the seats, poor seat fitment, Definitely a fake RS, hood is seriously crooked, same for trunk lid...

...and that's just from the pictures!

That said if they used decent parts but were just inept at putting it together it would be worth the extra work. If the parts quality is as bad as the build quality it's not a car you want to buy.

Check it out. If the parts are OK offer 20k. Be sure to pull the front carpet up a little and look at the floor. If that's bad work I'll bet the rest is poor under the shiny paint.

Yea that is my worry about the car in which it is just the quality of the build. From the exterior, it looks nice minus the fitment of the hood which I'm hoping is just the bolt up. The seats are something I could fix but isn't an immediate fix that is needed.

Overall, what I'm looking for is a clean body and a car that runs with no mechanical problems. I'm hoping to slowly put the car together and get it to where I want it, which would be adding FI

I wish all the best Camaros aren't in Southern California. All the ones in Northern California are WAY over priced and just not worth it.
