smoke out of left tail pipe
Hey guys, new to the forum, but had a minor question. Have a 396 BB and the last few days I have been seeing white smoke from the left tail pipe only. Nothing that you could see for miles, but its there and obviously a little more as I get into the accelorator. At idle, just continues as well. Any thoughts would be great. No smoke whatsoever under the hood
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you find one cylinder that is low then you should try pressurizing that cylinder with air and then check the radiator to see if any bubbles come up in the top tank. If you get bubbles it confirms a head leak into the cooling system.

If It's water in oil from cracked head gasket check for water in oil, your oil will look milky. Is it cold where u are? A cold morning just starting engine kind of smoke. Blue snake would mean burning oil, and black usually means running rich.

If its white SMOKE it could be valve seals or rings gone bad giving you some blow by. If its white STEAM then it could be a cracked head gasket like BB1971 said. If it is a head gasket more than likely it would run real rough until the engine warmed up.
