Default In search of

Hi all,
Im a new member, great to see all the conversations and information on this site!

Years ago (ok many years ago) I had a '69 RS in Burnish Brown, sadly I needed to sell it but now Im back looking for another.

Id love to get an '69 SS RS Convertible with a 396 but I think that shooting way for the stars
I have been looking on line (its not like it was years ago thumbing through the hardcopy want ad press as soon as it hit the stands at the local stores) but finding alot of modified or tribute cars or scams.

Im looking for a stock unmodified, authentic car for someone who knows the cars history and has details on what has been down to it.
Hopping you folks might be able to help me with my search.

Appreciate hearing back from you folks

Thanks'
Debbie

What you are looking for is a pretty rare car to begin with and finding an original unmolested one for sale won't be easy.
Just trying to document one takes an real expert short of finding a one owner car with all the original paperwork.
If you do find one I hope you have a lot of money, wish you luck.

Here's one that claims to be the real deal but the dealer has a disclaimer that they have not verified the car (typical) and buyer should do that themselves.
Very nice looking car though and claims numbers matching. Almost $90K

Sorry for the misunderstanding it doesnt not need to be the original owner that I know is way too much to ask I would just like to know some of the history. Most folks who care about these cars tend to know something about its lineage
Like where it came from, what has been done to to it whats been replaced redone etc

This is a the problem, there are so many people looking and so few up for grabs. Most of the cars that had original documentation have been bought up by collectors .and when they do go to sale they either go to other collectors or dealers. I would bet there are more "all matching numbers RS/SS big blocks now then there was in 1979. There is no part of the car or documentation that can not be faked. I am sure that even some of the cars that have been certified and even won real shows are fakes. The thing is a fake that good can cost as much to build as a real one costs. There are just not enough real ones around.

I think it is great that these cars we love are in demand but I hate that super rich car collectors wants 2 or 3 in there car collection so its complete when they daily drive a porsche. I watched a a blue 69 RS/SS big block car on Barrett Jackson sell for 125k and when they interviewed the winner he said he was excided because he did not have one in Blue.

I am glad I got mine before all the craziness started.

That too bad, I hadnt thought of it in that respect. Makes it tough for the average person to get one. Guess I better hope to win the lottery..
I was watching Barrett Jackson the other day and your right prices are unreal, nice cars but way out of my league

Wish I hadnt sold mine but wouldve, shouldve, couldve wont change that now.
Thanks
