Replacing ignition lock cylinder

Hi everyone - new to the forum and have a question.
I'm helping a friend restore a '67 RS convertible. We're trying to replace the ignition lock cylinder because we're installing all new lock cylinders in the doors, trunk, etc. I have the ignition switch out of the dash but I'm missing how to remove the lock cylinder from the switch itself. What is the trick? I noticed there is a small hole on the front of the face of the cylinder but I don't see that it serves a purpose. There's also a small pin that I can move just inside of the hole where the key is inserted.
Do I need the key to remove the cylinder? Any suggestions?
Great site! Thanks.

i stuck a small pin in that hole and had to wiggle it a little bit to get it to come apart. My friends on the other hand just fell right out. id just try the pin idea. hope that helps
