It is my understanding that cowl tag body sequence numbers are between 100000 and 243000 +-, and vin numbers are between 500000 and 743000+-. I also believe that the relationship between the body sequence and the vin are defined by production date. So when a car with a desirable x code has a 10b production date on that tag, the vin number would be around 550-585000. And the car that carried the 10b code and had a 702000 vin was a fraud.
