Default Rear end prob.

Hi all, new to the forum and im really loving, it Sooooo much info. I bought a 68 camaro with multi leaf springs but it is a 10 bolt mono leaf axle so im thinking about buying a 12 bolt multi to replace it. here is my question, will i need to change the drive shaft or will it be same length? i have a th30 tranny in it.

Your probably going to have to have the driveline shortened by an inch or so. I don't know the correct difference, but if you put them side by side you can see the pinion sticks out about an inch or so longer on the 12 bolt.

I have never had to change my driveshaft when changing those types of rearends but if you want to be 100% sure, just take your measurements before you take the old unit out and after you put the new one in

Yeah, that is exactly what you will need to do. There is really no way of knowing because every car is different and as I have learned, that little 1/8th inch can make a BIG difference...
