put 373's in it.

Thats what i did. I had 410's dropped it. I have a 4 speed also. But going to 5 speed soon.

I suggest the same. 373 with 5 speed gets you off the line fast cause the 1st gear is much taller then the muncie and you still have overdrive for cruising.

You'll regret 4:10 gears with a big block Chevy! I'm running 3:42 gears, and they work great for street or highway. I'd go with 3:73 if I did nothing but street use, but 4:10 will just overwork that big engine for no reason. You've got plenty of HP and toque, no need for winding it that tight.

[quote=MS69 YENKO/4-SPEED;442255]So I finally ogt my 69 back on the road, it has a 496 BBC crate Motor making 500HP and 560TQ And is backed up by a Muncie M21, Right now it has a single wheel airplane gear in it... And I'm going to have Posi and a lower gear but can't decide on the gear? THis is just a toy and has no AC in the car so long rides are out... as I live in Houston TX... It's really a Street light to Street light fun to jump on toy... probably never get more than 30 miles from home.

I was thinking like 3.90 or 4.10? anyone have a similar setup or any advice before I spend the $$$!
i have the same set up big block making 675 hp/655 trq, i had the 370 gears very nice set up, but if you want to have fun on the street as well as the highway
(and you will) 342 are the way to go

I love the 4.10s

The only time I had it on the Highway was about 9 miles. I had to Drive 50-55 but that was just bringing it home from the Speedshop.

Other than that its all Red light to Red Light driving... Which is awesome!

I agree if I had any plans to cruise this car to Shows...etc or take day trips requiring any Highway Driving I would go with 3.40 or Something... But I have a 2010 SS for that kind of stuff. This Car is a Weekend Toy to Go Jump on for joy rides to Scare myself and friends.

We have several local events that allow me get my Show fix...

But so far I'm glad I went with 4.10s I'm sure 3.73 would have been fine but the Yenkos came with 4.10s So I figured I would just keep it close to what a Yenko Experience would be.

Trust me these Gears make it really Fun to Drive with all that HP and TQ with a 4 Speed : )

Well I hope you feel the same way in a year from now. I've had everything from 4:56 to 2:74 gears under my 427 Camaro, and even for blasts down the 1/4 mile everything above 3:73 was too low. I was winding so tight at around 1000 ft. into the 1/4 that I had to let up to finish.
