matching numbers
Hello all, I am very new to the collector car world. A friend of mine has a 67 RS he's thinking about selling. So in researching the car, I keep seeing all this stuff about "matching numbers". Can someone tell me just what numbers they are talking about?
Thanks,
Mark

Some people go so far as to rebuild old factory batteries and starters instead of replace them with new ones...Thats why when you remove a factory installed item off your car, even if its a rusted bumper or a bad gearbox, keep it as one day someone will pay big bucks for a original broken or rusted part than a new reproduced item, they will restore the original item sometimes for 3 times the price of a new remanufactured item....When i got my grandnational, the guy kept every part that he ever replaced, including sensors, door locks,a starter, springs and sway bars and tons of more stuff,I threw all that out tho,I wasnt going to store all that crap...HTH
