If you were to use the 4th gen hydraulics, how about using a hydraulic throwout bearing. That way you can use your clutch?

And there is no need for a adapter.

Default Update

Drove the car today and couldnt be happier. The trans shifts perfect. 4.10 gears in the rear end, at 70 in fifth gear the RPM is 2500, in 6th its 1700.

I think I could use the LT1 cylinder and make a bracket to switch its direction. That would come down to stroke length of the slave. Still not sounding like its worth it. With 3:55's my engine has a little too much Cam in it to run down the road at 1400 RPMs and it rarely sees the highway. Might be more fun to just do the whole LT1 drive line with computer and everything but I won't do that to and RS/SS.
