Holley Intake ID
My '68 was purchased with a Holley carb model 4160 (600 cfm) and a Holley instake on 327 ci engine.
How do identify what model of intake is used? There are no casting numbers, no serial numbers....just the Holley logo under the section for the thermostat housing.
Thanks in advance,
Vic

Take a look towards the back for the model name. One should be on the manifold.
Here's an example: Holley Dominator

Thanks guys.
I will post a pic. The engine is coming out next month and is going out for a rebuild.
I'll have it all appart and I can get a pic.
There is no other numeric stamp that I can see..it''s actually quite odd.
No oil tube in the front and no place for one. From what I can tell (carb is not off yet) it is a square bore .....it is using a 4160 style Holley carb...so that is a square bore...and does not seem to be any adapters.
Will post pic when I can.
Thanks.

The "factory" aluminum intake manifolds were made for GM by a company called Winters Industries, the snowflake logo was their trademark.
From what I understand, ones like yours were then sent to Holley to be sold by them for aftermarket use. Most likely, it's the Street Dominator model you have. See if you can find any other casting numbers on it.

Chuck,
I think you are spot on. In fact, the snowflake logo has a distinct "W" in the center of it. I found no other casting numbers...at least none are visible with the intake still installed.
I have attached 3 pics of the intake...one is specificly the snowflake logo.
So this is an aftermarket intake, made for GM engines by Winters and then sold by Holley. You used the term "factory"...I'm not sure why.

Yes, that snowflake is the Winters mark. I used the term "factory" because some performance small block (and big block too) engine packages rolled off the GM assembly line with an aluminum intake manifold. Winters was the manufacturer of those intakes. They also made the one you have for Holley to put their name on it, but yours is not a "factory equipped" manifold.
