Help! Camaro gurus!
Hi guys, I'm Paul at the Austin Speed Shop. I enjoy the forum, there are some cool rides on here!
I have a problem, we're building a 68 for a nice young lady. We're on the home stretch and about to put a couple emblems on the car. the problem is we cant figure out what goes to the left of the gas cap. Theres two holes low on the panel but I have no idea what goes there. Any ideas? Thanks. - PAul

My guess is that it's where the dealer put their logo. A number of years ago (I'm dating myself) dealers used a logo that mounted just like a manufacturer emblem such as the SS emblem. Dealer logos are usually on the left side, just like you described.

I'm guessing the same thing...a Dealer Plate. Best thing to do would be to be fill those holes....given the status of the paint job I'm sure that's not welcomed news. Just curious...where are the other emblems did you guys fill them in of replace the fenders? Antenna?

if nothing else plug the holes with a rubber type plug, like a glove box or console door rubber stop and have her tell people it was a rare factory type something or other !!!
lol most people would buy it!!

Just fill the damn holes! You've come this far on the car and it's obvious somebody didn't catch this during the quotation, stripping, autobody work, primering and paint. Why Mickey Mouse around with this? This is what irritates me about having work done on a car by somebody else. You guys made a mistake and instead of taking the hit, coming out of pocket and making it right you're looking to minimize the cost of that mistake at the owner's expense.
Do the right thing, fill the holes!
