Default Transmission Gurus Please Apply!!

So I don't know much about my transmission... I'm hoping there's somebody here that could shed a little light on my situation...

1999 Camaro 3.8L V6

When I start my car and take off in drive as normal, my car shifts normal. Here's the problem. My car is getting stuck in 3rd gear. I can put the pedal to the floor and still be in 3rd gear. I can shift into 2nd gear but I have to do it manually and I cannot shift into first or 4th at all. Weird thing is, if I stop the car and turn it off, mess with the shifter for a bit, turn the car back on... All is well like there was never a problem.

Enlighten me wise men and women of Camaro Forums! For Kal is truly confused o.O

Don't get impatient, remember, this is a pretty small forum and you have a pretty technical/specific question that not a lot of people are going to know the answer to.

If turning the car off tends to fix things it may be an electrical issue. If messing with the shifter fixes things it could be the linkage. Double check that both of those look to be normal and maybe some other members can throw up some more advice.
