car shakes when i apply the brakes

Default car shakes when i apply the brakes

sorry for yet another thread guys, but i have a question about my brakes. i have 4 disc brakes i believe, and every time i apply the brakes the car shakes like crazy, do i just need new brakes?

Have you checked out your rotors?

Most likely. My car used to shake a lot, then I replaced the pads and rotors.

Depends on the shake. From the way you explain it, probably all 4 rotors and all new pads should do it. But if you feel the shake in your butt, it's the rears. If you feel it in the steering wheel, then it's the fronts.

thanks guys, appreciate it, and ya timmy its the steering wheel and the seats. im adjusting my ebrake soon, so ill do this at the same time

your ebrake is self adjusting

no its not the cables that need adjusting its the actually pads in the rotors that need to be adjusted, i wish it was the cables

... hmmmm never heard of adjusting pads... wait do you have rear drums

no i have all four disc brakes, and they dont adjust automatically, u have to take wheel off, its in the rotar apparently somewhere, i have to do some research if im going to be doing it myself, im a noob in this category
