Default Help with big block ID

A friend just purchased a 56 Chevy with a BB in it.
I can't get to the cast number or year code from the back of the motor and was only able to get the numbers off the block deck.

I can't seem to identify the motor using the codes and internet sites so I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Here are the codes…

T0928ED H B110675

1968 396ci 325hp perhaps?

Thanks you in advance for assisting.

T0928ED...
T=Tonawanda engine plant
09=September (9th month)
28=28th day of the month
ED=325 hp 396 out of a Chevelle, 1966, 1967, or 1968.
You would need to look up the date casting on the bellhousing flange to determine which year it is.
Or, if that B in the second set of numbers is actually an 8, then the engine would be a 1968.

Start your own thread so you don't hijack this guys.
Look for a pad on the front of the engine above the timing chain cover for the suffix code build info. What you gave is the partial VIN info: not knowing if you really have a 396, 7 would suggest 1967, N for Norwood plant, 198833 is the last 6 digits of the car the engine goes with. If those 6 numbers matches your car, you have an SS model with a matching engine, and it is indeed a 396.
