Front Springs
Alright guys got a quick question for yall. Has anyone ever cut or heated their front coil springs if so how do you do it and how do you get it even. I would think that cutting the springs would be the easiest and most controlled way to get the springs do drop. I have already put 2" drop spindles on and the front of the car is still a little high of how I want it to look. I have put the 3" DSE drop springs out back which look absoutly great give me the look that I want but the front of my car is still a little high. Any suggestions?
A number of years back I put new front springs on a different 69 of mine. The front was way too high, so I ended up cutting off close to a full coil, which dropped it quite a bit. I definitely wouldn't heat them, you'll take the temper out of the steel, and the results would be too inconsistant anyway. Since it sounds like you want to lose an inch or so, I would take a little at a time, because once you cut too much off, you can't put it back on. Try a 1/4 coil at a time till you get it where you like it.
