The factory harness, had a resistor wire going to the coil and when "hot rodders" would install HEI this wire would burn up so the fix for that was to install a heavier gauge wire. This is probably what they are referring too.

Thanks for the resistor reference. I kept scratching my head on that one cause I could not figure out why the original harness did not accommodate for that. After carefully inspecting the original wiring only the heavy purple wire was being used and the second wire had been taped off. Once I remove the original harness I was wondering why I did not have more problems since a few of the cables were so brittle and some had 1/2 inch wide gaps with no protection over the exposed wires. After triple checking all the wires, I reconnected the battery and cranked her over only to hear the engine start up like if nothing had changed. Now on to adding some gauges to keep an eye on the Oil, Temp and Battery levels and stop worrying if she is running hot or not . Thanks again for the help gentlemen.
