Driver Side Door Lock Question
Hello there,
I have a problem with getting into the drivers side door of my 1968 Camaro. I have taken off the door panel and to get in, I unlock my passengers side door and lean over to the driver side. I reach into the door frame and using my finger physically flick the door assembly to the unlocked position.
This succesfully unlocks my door so that I can open it from the outside. This is the only way to open my door from the outside.
The key will not unlock the door yet the door lock assembly is working. Is there a length of cable that can be replaced which will allow me to open the door from the outside?
Thank you so much for this forum and hope everyone has a great weekend.

I have the same trouble with my wife's '67. If I jiggle the lock back and forth (lock and unlock) several times it will usually unlock. You can't pull the lock up from the inside though. If I find out what it is I'll post up!
all there is in there is a metal rod that goes from the lock cylinder to the lock(the rod you pull up and push down). I don't know how it would have happened, but it seems that the rod came out somehow. the easiest way to fix it, because it would be hard to explain online, would be to take your passanger side panel off and look at the assembly to see how they hook together.
I would think there should be a rattle in your door as you are driving or maybe if it fell off, it is sitting in the bottom of the door
