Default Driver side door lock issue

I took my door panel off yesterday to look at my window motor but stupidly didn't take off the lock button. Now my door doesn't open from the outside. I have to stick my arm in the window and pull the lock while I pull the handle to get it open. I took the door panel off again today to look at what was going on inside and I honestly don't really know what I am looking for. The lock rod doesn't stay where it supposed to in the door. How do I fix this?

There are some plastic clips that hold the rods into the proper places. Sounds like you might have broken one of those. Auto parts stores sell them in the "HELP" section for a few bucks. You may have to take the other door panel off to see which one you are missing.

Thanks! I will have to take off the other panel to see what's missing. I must look like a crazy chick when I walk up to my car and stick my arm in my window to open my door!

Good luck! It took me a couple tries to get everything back together right after replacing my window motor! Then after getting it all put back together, the window push button switches kept popping out of the interior panel. Have to get those wires in there just right to keep them from pushing the buttons out the top.

my switch panel kept popping out too. you can get a chevy dealer to try to find some new clips for you, thats what i did, kind of hard to find but not too hard. you shouldnt be out more than maybe 20 bucks
