Dealing with Classic Performance Products
Just wanted to let those who have not yet dealt with the company called Classic Performance Products in Anaheim California know that in two years that I swore I will never ever do business with them again, they have not improved their customer service or shipping and delivery one bit. I looked them up on the LA BBB and found them rated F which fits them to the Tee. Don't be fooled by all their advertising and prices. You'll pay for it with your nerves and agony.
Placed order last wednesday (8/27), checked on Thursday late and no shipment tracking info. Called and was told my order had dropped through the cracks and that it would for sure ship out on Friday. Checked Friday again and no order tracking. Called Tuesday after Labor day and was told they had screwed up and it would definitely go out on That day. I asked since order was delayed can they send on 2nd day air at their cost since I have a car waiting for these brakes in the shop. They said no they can't do it unless I wanted to pay out of my own pocket for 2nd day air. I said I'll just wait for the parts to ship on Tuesday. Wednesday I checked and still no tracking info. Called and was informed that the screwup continues and parts have not shipped yet. Finally after 2 phone conversation, I got a UPS tracking number today (Wednesday) about a week after I placed the order (~$375 order).
2 years ago I ordered about $3K worth of suspension upgrades. I got a bunch of back orders, no emails on shipments, and the invoices that came in never made sense of what has shipped in what box and what is backordered. Danny was my CSR. He sent me a drive shaft I had not order and 9 days after receiving a part and disputing the order and 2 conversation with his manager, I managed to get a UPS return label to return the part. They would not even agree to taking the part back. Again they insisted that I pay for the drive shaft to be returned.
From the BBB in LA it looks like I am not the first one to this party. The sad part here is that they have done a great sell job to the trade magazine with glossy ads and how to articles in every auto mag. The problem is getting your parts correctly and in a timely manner. The parts are not that special since most are made in China or oversees. They are a distributor and not a manufacturer as far as I can tell.
