Compression Check?
Hello, I appoligize upfront for some dumb newbie questions... Just got a 69 with a BB 454 and It is nothing to right home about performance wise! The engine is rebuilt but just stock, other than it has a decent cam in it or at least a good lope... BUt the Intake is FLAT and it has a 600cfm Carb on it! Not sure about the heads and what pistons?
But I was hopin there is a way with the compression checker that you can tell what compression ratio you have...9.1 10.1..? Does any know? is there a conversion from the PSI to the Compression ratio?
One more question, Do you think puting an Elderbrock Air Gap Intake and a Holley 750 Double Pump carb with make this engine come to life?
I can't imagine with 454 base it would'nt be to hard to get 425-450HP out of it fairly easy...?
here is the engine as it sits now: Thanks for the advice!!!
