Body Work VS New Shell
Hi all, As I mentioned before, I have been out of the classic car game for over 20 years. I have a chance to buy a 1st Gen Camaro, not the one from previous thread I created. It has original numbers matching engine. Frame looks good, but every piece of body and floorboards are in very rough condition. If I get it, I will have to hire a body shop to do a LOT of the metal work as I am not skilled at such. Would it be better to have them repair/replace metal as needed, or is it a better idea to buy a good prefab complete shell?

In most areas its cheaper to replace the body, Make sure you check your state laws/process regarding body repair that requires Vin tag removal and reinstall. Also it would not hurt to talk to a restoration shop but keep in mind this much metalwork is not what the average crash and dent shop can do.
