BB radiator with a 327 engine???
I have bought a 23 inch big block radiator and BB fan shroud for my 1968 327 Camaro. I have not got it installed yet but at first glance it looks like the fan will be about 2 inches back from the shroud instead of just inside the shroud as it should be. Has anybody tried this set up? If so what do I need to do to make this right? I’m beginning to think I made a big mistake buying these parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use the small block fan shroud not the big block shroud. it will be just a little shorter on the sides but will work. I did it in my Firebird when I put in a small block Chevy, they use the same big block Chevy rad. Or you can just get an electric fan

If I read the post right, all you should need to do is put on a 2 inch fan spacer. that should bring it up 2 more inches to the radiator.

I really don't understand your thoughts behind buying a BBRadiator for a SB. is this a stock replacement? if you wanted more cooling, all you should have done was buy a radiator with a thicker core. where did you buy the radiator?

Have you ran the engine as it is set up now? what is the temp? thought about just putting in electric fan set up? When i bought my car it had a big block motor and a small block radiator w/no shroud. I of course swapped eveything out went with a becool big block rad w/ dual cooling fans.

Thanks for your help. I bought the BB radiator by mistake from a half a** radaitor shop thatspecial ordered it. It has been a month or more & I don't even know if I have the paperwork from it. I have not run the engine with the radiator since the car is in the process of going through a major frame off restoration. I doubt that I can get this place to exchange it but I will try today, if not I will be selling this radiator and fan shroud. $300.00 for both will take them, let me know if anybody would like to have them.

Did you give them the part number or did they pick it out and order it? If they ordered the wrong one and you have not installed it they should exchange it for the right one.

I talked them into swaping out the BB radiator for the correct SB three core radiator today. Now I need to get with Tamraz in Illionis and see if I can get them to give me a credit on the fan shroud. Thanks for the help.
