Talking '69 Transmission Pan removal

Hello,
New to the forum. Need a question answered from someone with more experience on 1st gens(or Camaros period) than me! Working on the wifey's '69. Has 350/350. I need to change the tranny fluid. I need to know the easiest way to remove the tranny crossmember to get the rear bolts out of the pan. I don't have some fancy garage with a lift or anything like that. I work on the floor (and thank God it's not dirt) with the car on jackstands. How what's the best way to support the tranny and remove the crossmember. Could I use my jack and a piece of wood to cradle the aft of the tranny behind the crossmember? Don't want to mess anything up as the wife will.......well, let's just say it won't be pretty!!!!!

Yes, you said it, use a jack and a piece of wood to prop it up while you remove the crossmember.

thanks dynarider33. just wanted to know that I wouldn't damage the aft part of the tranny by holding the whole thing up there.
