I plan on rebuilding my tranny (700R4). My friend said he would help but wants me to remove it. the only problem i have with that is the torque converter. im worried that i won't mark it's position well enough during removal and throw off the timing. any recomendations would be appreciated.

 

Use a punch or spray paint to mark where the converter and flex plate meet. (just one spot). The torque converter won't affect timing in any way, but in certain cases can affect engine balance.
