I purchased the aftermarket detent switch and clip that its slides into. I take it this was a poor setup. The plastic detent switch energizes when you push the linkage ¾ of the way down and then energizes the solenoid to open the flap. The issue I am having is the detent switch at times binds and then sticks as it pushes against the firewall. Was this a terrible setup from the factory or is the aftermarket parts I am using. It just seems to be not a stable setup.

 

Poor aftermarket materials as OE switch is metal.
You might spray the plastic with WD40
