Hello.. I Need to fit a bbc 427 engine with factory chromed valve covers under my 69 camaro hood...the heads have 1.7 pro comp magnum rollers and the studs are hitting the valve covers... Also I am running 11" power brake... So the clearance with it is also an issue... I checked for spacers and i found 1/2, 3/8, 3/4, 1.15" etc. Spacer... Anyone have any idea what would be the best choice for my application... And yes the factory style valve cover is a must because i like to preserve the factory look under the hood.

math is your friend MEASURE

 

Math is everyones friend... But the engine is outside the car and can't do the measurement from outside... I am sure that someone has experienced my case...

 

Try using long studs them see how tall you need for a spacer.There are also valve covers with a notch for big block Corvettes as well.

 

don't know if this helps, but I run 4" valve covers on a sb that sits on BB frame mounts and have an 11" booster. plenty of room between the two
