Default Tall Valve Covers + Brake Booster

Recently dropped a new BB into my camaro and am having problems with the valve covers rubbing aginst the brake booster drum. Is there a quick fix or do I need to buy a new booster?

what size motor did you put in the car? I also have a 69 ss with a 427 I bought aftermarket valve covers and I had the same problem. you need the GM valve covers with the left slant, other wise its a no go man.

you shouldn't really have a problem unless you have a taller than stock valve cover. if you have roller rockers, you won't be able to fit the low covers though. you can either buy a mini-booster or you can use the low covers and use a double gasket to give you enough clearance and not hit the booster

a 7 or 9in booster will work with tall covers

Thanks for the replies. I have decided to go with a new double diaphram booster maybe a 9", I'll have to see what fits. As you can see from picture, it's a tight fit.

Update: I went with a 7" dual booster from Tuff Stuff and it fit perfectly and gave valve cover clearance. Fenix, it is a Merlin 509BB.
