Default 68 rear speaker install

speaker install 6 x 9 rear deck ? install under deck or over deck and drop in. If over and drop in it looks as if you have to cut a strip of metal to drop in. What did you all do.
thanks

The 69' I'll be getting next week has 6x9's in it, and it appears that they were dropped in. This would make the most sense from an audiophile's perspective, concerning proper dispersion and reflection. However, to be honest with you, I would probably never have made the speakers that obvious if I could help it, and would gladly sacrifice perfect sound. In other words, I wish the car didn't have them! So....to answer your question: I'd place them below and avoid cutting any metal....and keep the covers as low profile as possible. This is more a personal preference issue than a structural one.

you bring them up from inside the trunk and the bolts come down from the interior to hold them up.

On order from firewheel classic a new mesh packge tray.
6 x 9 cut out with mesh over them. This will make going from bottom easy.
