Default 67 Camero Carb

Bought a 1967 Camero convert a year ago to have a car to drive because all my rides are being restored by me and that ain't working to quick. This car was supposed to be turn key with 10 actual miles on rebuild - but - surprise. Present problem is - Quadrajet that won't adust. Thinking about replacing with Holly. Anybody have suggestions on this. Just want it to run reliable - no racer - just smooth and constitent. Also, after rewiring convrt top to proper 30 amp breaker, I have replaced the switch 3 times now and it keeps going bad, same symtoms. One side of rocker switch won't work and other side works fine. Top goes down, but will not come back up. Turn switch around and top won't go down, but will go up. I'm on 4th switch. Wondering if cast alum keeper is warping switch? Anybody else have this problem.

What size motor? holley is a good product, as is Edelbrock. a 650 might be fine.

Motor is 327, 275 h.p. with automatic. Can't seem to get quad to idle down in park/neutral. Idle adjustment screw is backed out, but linkage won't even pull back far enough to engage adjustment screw. What am I missing here? It should be simple, but it has been a while since I messed abround with quad carb. I'm thinking about the 650 holley, unless this is a simple fix that I just don't see. If you have any suggestions to try, I'm game. If not, a purchase will be made. Thanks for any help you can offer.

If memory serves me there is alot going on with those carbs. I think there are two screws. I think your linkage is placed wrong somewhere,, either at the carb or the pedal. I suggest buying a service manual too.

Make sure your choke is opening all the way, and that the fast idle pawl is dropping out of the way of the fast idle adjustment screw.
