Default 1st Gen Component ID GM Part# 1100

Hello All,
I could use your experience to help ID a component which belongs on my 68RS. I am wrapping up the restoration and have this piece left over which the ID tag fell off of over time. I believe it goes under the dash (ash tray area.) I checked the assembly manual along with the service manual no luck. I am a new member to this site therefore, I can not yet post an attachment until I have more postings. If you are up for the challenge I can email you the pictures. The GM part number is 1100...
Thanks Dan at danc76@aol.com

Default additional info

It is a 4 speed car with a factory console and gauges...that may or may not help ID the part?

Yes, I was racing into work so I could be the hero. It is the fuel filler line cover that goes in the trunk. I was looking on Rick's for dash parts and relized I had seen it before, so I popped the trunk ans sure enough, bingo.

Default Part Identified!!!

Edog,
I grabbed the assembly manual...you are spot on! The light bulb went off & I now recall removing it from that location 6 years ago. I apprectiate your time and hopfully I can help you out down the road. Can't wait to get home from work and install it tonight.

Thanks Again
Dan
