Transmission Component Weights
Hi, I'm a second year mechanical engineering student in Australia, writing a technical report on aftermarket vs original replacement transmissions, in particular the TREMEC TKO 500/600 vs Muncie M20/M21/M22!
For part of a materials and embodied energy analysis I need to know the weights of various components of these transmissions. If anyone on the forum has an already disassembled Muncie and could weigh the components listed below it would be much appreciated.
Case
Shafts
Gears
Syncro rings
Bearings
Shifter
Shifter forks
Gaskets
The only Muncie I have access to is bolted into my brother’s daily driver ’67 Camaro and I can’t see him being impressed if I were to take it apart for a report!!!
