Default 1969 Z28 Rear Spoiler

My Dad bought a real 1969 Z28 DZ 302 recently. A car he's know for more than 20 years, 48,000 original miles. It has quite a few unique options, RS package, factory tach, AM/FM stereo, chambered exhaust, etc. However, one thing I noticed was the rear spoiler. It doesn't go out to the edge of the quarters like most rear spoilers. It's narrow and stops about 1" - 1.5" from the edge of the quarter. I haven't seen any statistics or options for a different spoiler. Anyone have any information on it?

Pictures may help. I know the 69 rear spoiler was changed from the 68 but I do not recall there being two options in 1969.

The early 69's used leftover 68 spoilers, which were narrower than the rear width of the 69. When those were depleted, the new full width spoilers were used.
