The guy at my dads friends shop who sold me the car says that the wrap around spoiler came out in 71, but I see pictures of them on 70s. I have a 70 and I kinda like the big wrap around spoiler but if it came out in 71 then id rather get the lip spoiler. What year did wrap around spoiler come out?

 

The 3 piece spoiler came out in 1971. If you see pictures of 1970's with a 3 piece, it's been changed. Remember, the first '70 Camaros didn't even hit the street until around March of 1970, so they had a short run before Chevy started making the '71's.

 

Both rear spoilers were available in 70. The 3-piece high spoiler (COPO 9796) was available optionally in late April.

If they're lined up perfectly the 3 piece looks good, but if I had a 1970 I's sure go the 1 piece. They always look good, even after years in place. Sometimes the 3 piece shift a little, or the decklid needs to be readjusted to keep it all lined up perfect.
My '71 had the 1 piece on it when I bought it in 1973, and I built it up taller as I like the higher look, but also like the 1 piece.

 

Yea the 1 piece looks pretty good. when im done its gunna be a daily driver so it probably wouldn't be long before id have to realign the 3 piece.

 

Mine is 2.5" taller than stock.
