Alright, so now I've got the new stereo, so my dad said that the best way to get the old one out would be to temporarily remove the center console but I don't see that as being possible without breaking the console itself; so is it better to remove to dash or the console when replacing a stereo?

 

I didn't remover either. I simply pulled the ***** and then the nuts that hold the stereo in. Pulled the brace from the back and unplugged the wires. Then wiggled it out around all the other stuff and dropped it down.
If it wont come out, then you might pull the glovebox insert and let it come out that side.
