1969 Z Body Assy date confusion.
Hello,
I'm looking for a better understanding to the body assy date that GM used on these cowl tags.
I'm about to start the restoration of a '69 X33. The body assy date is 05C.
I understand it's the 3rd week of May but what "EXACTLY" is considered the 3rd week of May is what I'm baffled about. I know a calendar week is considered Sunday-Sunday. May 1st 1969 began on a Thursday, is this really considered the first week even though it's not a full week thus making the 3rd of week May the 11th-18th ?
Thanks for any info guys and gals

I would guess its the third week of May. My guess would be the 11th-18th going Sunday to Sunday. Just knowing its the 3rd week is all that usually needed during a 100% correct restoration to know what parts were available and what was used at that time due to slight changes throughout the production.
That's like a trick question. Don't look at the calendar then. The first day of every month is the 1st. One week is 7 days. So the first week of the month would be the 1st-7th. Week two would be the 8th-14th, and so on.
With using the "calendar week" to map out a 30 day month for instance, where the 1st is on a Saturday, would mean that month has 6 weeks. And we all know a month is not 6 weeks long.
With your car being built the 3rd week, it would have been between the 15th-21st. Build dates weren't day specific, only week specific.
