Hi all,
I'm new here on the Camaro forum, and to Classic Cameros in general. My son and I are currently restoring a 72 Chevelle, and I have a chance to buy a 1968 Camero for restoration.

The body is generally in decent shape with some rust repair and body work needed, rear quarters, patch panels, etc. It will be a full restore...

It has the original inline 6 250CI engine (which still runs), and a 3 speed manual transmission. Engine compartment is OK, with no damage except surface rust.

The owner is asking $6500, which seems a little steep. The interior is generally OK, with floor pans and re-upholstery needed.

What do you guys think? Is this a good price for this car?

Hard to say without any pic's.

Ask yourself what it would cost to restore and then go from there.

 

i little high are you going to keep the car and enjoy it or just fix and sale which will come into play when thinking about price

 

My 67 was in a little worse shape but not a lot worse had same engine and transmission but did not run am was missing rear end and I only paid 750

 

It seems a little hi but your choices in old steel are going away so what is a few extra dollars to secure your next project.

 

Camaro guys get nit picky when somebody spells it "Camero".

 

Not to mention he spelled it both ways.
That's why I didn't respond, didn't know if he was looking at a Camaro or a Camero.
