Do i stand a chance?
Hi everone.
So i have a 2018 Camaro, 10 speed auto. The only upgrade i have is a KnN air intake. My friend has a 2008 Ls3 Corvette, only mod, muffler delete. His is auto, 6 speed. Do u guys think i have a chance on beating him?

Well my Camaro has the 6.2L, pumping 455hp n 455 torque BUT my car weights around 3700 pounds, his Vette has the 6.2 LS3, he is only getting 430hp n like 426 torque but he weights only 3200 pounds. We r going to race from dig n maybe a couple of rolls, i was just trying to see if i stand a chance against a Vette, even though its 10 yrs older...
I'd say you have a good race ahead of you,he has power to weight advantage but you have more gears and more hp.
My guess it may well come down to who is the better driver, from what I've read both cars can run mid 12's in the 1/4 mile.

No wonder why Corvettes are fearsome right? Lol. Like, a 2008 giving me a run for my money.
The Corvette has a near 50/50 weight distribution, compared to your 54/46. The Corvette will launch with little to no tire spin from a dig due. Add to the fact that the Corvettes power was and is still, very underrated and he has power to weight ratio in his favor, he will win. You may have more gears but they aren't going to help much in a 1/4 mile, you'll be lucky if your car hits 5th before the end of the run (assuming the TCM doesn't skip a gear). You have more power on paper, but again, the Corvette was underrated. I've also seen both stock and modded C5/C6 Corvettes take on 6th gen Camaros at my local drag race. The Corvette always win. It'll be close, don't get me wrong, your front bumper will be within the back side of his door, but he'll win. Again, that is eliminating any type of driver error.
From a roll, he'll get your for sure.
But honestly, neither of these cars were built for drag racing. They were built for spirited driving and road racing.
