Default Pirelli P Zero Rotation

Bought my '12 2SS vert used in 3/13 - 4700 mi. Took it to Chevy dealer I bought it from for 7500 mi. checkup. Because I had just dinged the driver's side front wheel the day before (slight curb rash), I could clearly tell the tires were not rotated when I picked it up. Explanation I got the next day was the tires were "directional" and would have to be unmounted, turned, remounted to be able to rotate side to side (20x8 on front, 20x9 on rear - side to side rotation only). That kind of rotation is not covered under warranty. I subsequently contacted Pirelli cust. service. They advised the tires are NOT directional and can be cross-rotated (side-side). Advised the dealer service mgr and he said he'll get back to me. Contacted Pirelli cust. service again to ask how often they should be rotated. They responded "Most of the Camaro options are a staggered fitment and can not be rotated front-to-back. You can rotate side to side if you'd prefer. We recommend rotations every 3-5k miles if standard fitment, it would not be required on a staggered fitment vehicle." Then I decided to call since I wasn not 100% clear on what they were advising. The person I spoke to on the phone opined that they probably do not need rotated if I wasn't having problems like vibration and I could follow mfg. (Chevy) recommendation. Looking for opinions on whether to force dealer to rotate these tires.

I had the Pzero's but the 245/40/21 front and 275/35/21 rear and those were directional. But I wouldn't think a rotation is covered under any warranty. If you have Vibration you could have bent a wheel. or just thrown off the balance and might require to be balanced.
Heres a pic of the pzero and you can see the tread would run differently if you just rotate from left to right.

Thanks for the reply. This is pretty old and I should have posted the end result. After I called Pirelli support and was advised that these tires were NOT directional and should be rotated side-side I went back to the dealer with that info and they acknowledged the tech who did the checkup erred by saying there were directional arrows on the tire (there aren't). And since this 7500 mile checkup is a warranty freebie which includes tire rotation, they rotated the tires properly. P.S. Wasn't experiencing a problem, just wanted the proper maitenance done. I'd like these pricey tires to last as long as reasonable.

Whenever in doubt, look at the sidewall. Directional tires have an arrow showing the tire rotates thataway.

With a treadwear value of 220, they may serve 12K-15K miles, aka, heavy foot or drive with an egg.
Also, nothing wrong with swapping side-to-side after demounting and rebalancing.
Generally, dealers will do the first one, the rest are customer pay.

Tread value varies with manufactures, there is no set standard. Each manufacture uses their own measure and you can not really say that one will last 12k-15k. My Pzero's lasted about 20k with a heavy foot. I've also ran toyo's with a rating of 280 which last 10k.

Mine are at 17,100 and I am 100% sure I could get another 5-10k out of them. The tread is about 1-2mm above Abe's head on a penny. New is only about 3-4mm.
