Default Stock sound system upgrades?

Ok last question (for now). The stock sound system on my base model LS is lame, what do you guys recommend I do to beef it up? Can I just replace the speakers or would the underpowered deck still not pump out much sound? Are there rca ports to hook up a sub? Or do I need to replace the whole deck and speakers to get decent sound out of this thing? Thanks guys

try looking at crutchfield and see what they show for your setup. at least get an idea of what will fit if any.

Thanks, that site is actually very helpful. They show all kinds of information about what speakers will fit but I'm still wondering if just replacing the speakers with higher quality ones will get me more sound? Or does the radio itself need replaced?

to a point yes. It depends on what amps your system is putting out. also if your looking for base then you may want to be looking at amp with sub woofer. I called and talked with rep at crutchfield and he set me up. then I went through three amps to get the sound I wanted. they had no problem switching them without cost, except some shipping if I remember right. lol, its been a while now.
