Thumbs up If you thinking of road tripping in your new SS

I only have good things to say after taking my 1SS/RS to Norfolk, VA from Augusta GA last weekend to see how she would accommodate a long drive. The drive usually takes about 7-8 hours pending on traffic. If your planing on taking yours on a road trip this is what I discovered.

1. Gas mileage GREATLY increased more than I was expecting averaging around 24-27. (typically getting 14-16 city) (the manual suggests using cruise control when possible, take this advice, it works.)

2. A full tank should get you close to 350-400 miles (drove the whole way back no stops!! exit-11 on I-95 VA, to exit-1 on I-20 in SC)

3. The ride is extremely comfortable for hours on end (wouldn't advise back seat riders)

4. She handles great at prolonged high speeds, almost driving herself. (no vibrations, like driving on glass.)

5. Saw countless mustangs on the trip but only 1 other 2010 Camaro. Red w/black stripes. (Nice to know every one doesn't have a ride like me.)

6. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD!! Every one else will be looking at your car!!

If you have any questions about taking yours on a trip feel free to ask. I managed to find myself in most road trip situations getting the full experience pleasant or not, even got stuck in hour long traffic jam (really had to go, but not in a bottle.. not in that car).. Overall, I recommend taking yours for a trip. Long as you have plenty dough for fuel, and don't mind people asking for pictures at every stop, or cuties asking for rides.

Good info...I didn't think you could drive a new Camaro on a 300 mile road trip. Most people would not take them out of the driveway.

I am really glad to hear they handle so well, I am extremely jealous. Love the new camaros. I've only seen one in person, and it was driving away from me. T_T Made me sad. xD

Glad to hear your trip went well though!

I picked my 2SSRS up at the dealer on saturday before labor day and took off to Canada on Monday (yes labor day). I made a round trip of 1400 miles and loved every minute of it. The car drove great, handled great and most of all, it drew a crowd every time I stopped. I love this car.
