Block casting number is 3970010-alsoA 20 5, these are are on the back of the engine. On the front pad just above the waterpump , under the alt are these numbers, C5B127127 V0127T. Head casting number is 378450 ,also on the heads is GN9T and E 10 79. Cant seem to find out what this is so if anyone can help I would appreciate it. THANKS!!

The "3970010" is a pretty common block, used in 1969 for the 302, and from 1969-80 for the 350.
"A 20 5" is the date code. A=January, 20=day of month, and 5 would have to be 1975 (the only year between 69-80 that ends with a 5).
C5B127127: C= that I'm not so sure about because a "1" instead of C= Chevy (maybe there's a difference because of what it came out of...read on), 5=1975, B= Baltimore, Maryland VIN assembly plant (not engine assembly plant), and the rest is the partial VIN.
V0127T: V= Flint engine Plant, 01= assembly month (January), 27= day of the month, T= truck motor division
The "450" heads were used on 267 and 305 engines. "E 10 79" date code is May 10, 1979.
So...you have a 1975 350 truck engine with 1979 267/305 heads.
Oh yeah, and here's a good link to research from: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-ca...oding-help.asp
