I was going to take mine off until I painted it, but I couldn't get it all the way off, lol.
What all do you have to talk off to get to the last clips that have thenuts on the back?

And I dunno if I'm going to get pulled over or not, in Texas we're supposed to have a front license plate. But if I took it off I could just say there werent any bolts to put it into, and I'm not about to drill some holes, lol.

Theres a guy on the V6 Firebird/Camaro forum that did this, trying to get a response from him still.

As for the topthreethings that hold the grill in place they are kinda threaded onto the plastic peg. Just pull straight out and try not to bend it. Top requires a little more muscle and getting in the right position to pull from. If you do break any of the plastic pegs don't sweat it, you can pick them up cheap.

As for the laws in your area, I know its considered a fix it ticket out here in CA for not having a front plate on, but usually an officer won't bother pulling you over solely for not having a front plate on.

In ohio, technically your front license plate has to be seen from 50 feet away. I hate having a front plate on my car, so I put it on the air dam under my car and bent the bottom of the plate under the air dam so it doesnt scrape on the street. My friend isa cop and he told me to do that to get away with the no plate on the grill. He said that if I get pulled over for no plate....I can say "yes I have a front plate on my air dam under my front bumperand it is visible from 50 feet away". They cant do ticket me for it.

Part 1 is done. I got Rustoleum Plastic spray paint in kind of a semi gloss black. Sanded it down, cleaned it up, rubbed a little paint thinner on it, and put on the first coat. You can see abrasive areas from the sanding, and I'm gonna hit that with probably some 800 grit and add at least another coat, probably two. I'll put up pics later.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you...I am going to go for a glossy white in order to match the body... similar to how Zoilus did if you have seen his camaro.
hehe

Thanks again.

I honestly would never go back to black. When it's the same as the body color, it helps get rid of some of the catfish effect, plus I think it looks better. If the car is Midnight Blue or Black then I think glossy black would look kick@$$. Just my .02

My grill is actually the SLP grill, so it was sanded, primered, 2 coats of paint, 2 of clear
