Default Painted Grill

Has anyone tried painting the stock plastic grill insert on 98-02 Camaros a glossy black like the SLP grill?

I saw on the LS1 Tech where a lot of people did it. They sanded it down to be real smooth, and they turned out preatty good.

I'm gonna try it out... I'll let you know how it goes, but I think the only real hard thing about it is going to be the prep time.

I took off the OEM grill about 10 minutes ago and it looks alright. My main plan is to sand down the grill and paint it glossy black like in the pic I posted above.

Those are really cool.
I was planning on just removing mine, but I may paint it if I can find one to match my body color!

I'll take a pic tomorrow after I take the SAT for ya 98RCMARO. Give ya an idea of how it looks on the navy metallic blue without a grill. I'm actually kinda considering leaving it without a grill.
1.Gonna have to have the front repainted because of spider cracking
2.It looks bad-a, looks like the mouth of a stingray

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you...I am going to go for a glossy white in order to match the body... similar to how Zoilus did if you have seen his camaro.
