crack in fiberglass hood
i have a couple hairline cracks in my fiberglass ram airII hood on my 1989 camaro i looked under the hood were the cracks were on the outside i didnt see known on the bottom so i think its bondo , the hood is unpainted but is primed does it hurt letting it sit outside and will it cause it to crack even more

RE: crack in fiberglass hood
As long as you're sure the crack is in the glass and not the primer, then that's a stress crack you have. It's not uncommonwith fiberglass panels. You need to fix it from the outside...grind down, re-glass, sand, etc. If you just "bondo" overit, or fill it with anything, it will come backand ruin a good paint job.

RE: crack in fiberglass hood
Most of the stress on a glass hood comes from slamming it closed. Instead of "dropping the hood" like you would a steel hood, you would be a lot better off resting it down and pushing down at the latch. Subframe connectors will help to keep the frame and body from flexing, not so much the hood. But if you're going with some h.p. with that 350, frame connectors won't hurt.
