Default What's it gonna take?

There's a girl that I work with who drives a 2007ish V6 Mustang. She said she wants to race and I haven't really got around to it yet. I told her to wait til it got warmer and we could race all she wanted. Anyway.. What's it going to take to outrun her car? It's all stock and an automatic.

I read it puts out 210hp @ 5300rpm and 240ft/lbs torque at 3500rpm

My car from factory puts out 160hp at 4600rpm and 200ft/lbs torque at 3600rpm

I'm not real sure of either cars weight.

My car has the following done to it:

Pacesetter mid-length headers and y-pipe
MagnaFlow high flow cat
Z-28 dual outlet muffler (stock mid pipe)
Steel single piece driveshaft
UnderDrive crank pulley
MSD coil packs
K&N CAI
8mm plug wires
Z-28 LSD rear end (2.73) gears

I know I'm suffering with my gear ratio.. I need some 3.73's or 4.10's if I'm going to stand a chance.

Do you guys think that I could take it up to 80-90mph with 3.73's?

Think I'll need a 2.5" or 3" mid pipe? My factory on is like 2.25 I think..

Think I'll need cam, roller rockers, head work?

Think I'll need two extra cylinders? Lmao

Anyways, ALL input is appreciated! Thanks again!

Hmm, it probably comes down to a drivers race. v6 mustangs can do 14s with bolt ons and a tune. But they do 15s-16s stock. If she cant drive and you get the jump on her you might be able to win.

I would start by getting the clutch woes right.

Oh. Fixed that. Combination of throw out bearing and flywheel shim.

3.42s might be better if you dont feel like getting new gears, you could just get a rear out of an fbody with them. 4.10s would help a lot though

How horrible will my highway mileage be with 4.10's?

you have the 5 sp so thats an advantage. should make for a good race if she can drive. 373s would work fine. 342 is what i would look at for all around.
