The 3 valve GT is a fun ride and i will admit i love driving them. But i would not trade in my LS1 for one. I think a LT1 and a S197 with average drivers is a pretty close race with the stang having a little edge near the top of the power band. LT1 F-body is a very low 14 second car stock with loads of torque down low. The S197 is a high 13 second car with a good amount of power throw the mid and upper part of the power band.
And for the ricers we have all heard the storys. I love it when i catch true ricers talking down to V6 guys
. Like all its only a 3.8 thats crappy man [>:]. Its even better when that near stock V6 goes out and kicks there cans right to the curve
. Thats right V6 guys some times i kind of like it when you spank up on ricers

The Mustang IS considerably heavy weighing it at almost 3500lbs (over that with any normal sized human being driving). You put it up againsta light more modern 4cyl. Possibly with a factory turbo. and it will be a close race. Ive driven MANY mustangs working for the dealership and none of them have the punch my camaro had.. We currently have a Lancer Evo VIII which pretty much has a more modern turbo'dversion of my engine, the 2.0L Inline 4. It packs 276hp 286tq andruns a 4.4 0-60 and a 13.1 1/4 time and weighs in at about 3000lbs. S197 Mustangs run a 5.1 0-60 and a 13.9 quarter mile. Now i prefer the STI but the Evo is a close 2nd for these types of cars. The STI feels better and is just kick *** all the way around. But the Evo does pack a pretty powerful punch.
Your talking about the 4G63... I am assuming you have a first or second gen DSM from the sound of it. The evo 8 is a great car but a average driver will run a hair slower most of the time in the 13.3 range. Of course there have been a few in the extremely low 13 range bone stock but how many times can they pull that off. Burning out your brand new clutch on the forth pass because you where dropping it from 6 grand is an expensive way to go in a Evo
. The 1/4 times dont reflect the cars abilitys very well in this case. Take both cars out from a 30 MPH roll and you will see a much closser race. Or add a set of stickys to the stang and now there is only a .2 to .4 second split making it a drivers race.

Yes guys you are all right he used his mystic 3 legged cat and had like 10 stickers which we all know those will give you 10-15hp for each one depending on what the sticker is. Then don't forget he neglected to metion the fact that he went up against a viper messing 6 cylinders you know had to be handy cap if he only has 6cylinders to begin with.
I hate tall tail racers or my bad wanna be 'racers' I had a friend who would say he whooped up on the new GT's and beat Pontiac Firebird Trans Am's with he little 4-banger honda. I went up against him in my truck and to be fair since he told me that his engine is new and he can't rev past 4 so he had half the power I only went half throttle and still went ahead of him.
I don't know but 6's aren't bad but if you are missing 2-4 cylinders then you more than likely won't win especially if all you got is a gutted catalic converter. I took a 6 in my truck but it was at a rolling start.

HAHAH you would get along great wiht the ricers at me school. lol talking about smokin vettes with thee "nawws" and having there proud honda stickers all over there stuff. btw while ur at it if vipers are so easy you should go after lingifelter(spelling??) vettes. should be nothing for your 3.8l. zero to 60 is only 1.97 seconds

You are talking about the 4G63 in the Evo 8 and 9. If you where talking about a older version then you are talking about a first or second gen DSM. CORRECT.

Maybe I find some use of them and this one and bash you with them and throw them at your car.
Also Spartan You said it yourself it is turbo charged so ya I hope it can at least do a little something. Those tuner cars are just annoying wanna be's. Only tuner I like the supra forget a stupid 350Z and GT-R(skyline) besides they are fullyed tuned cars there isn't much you can actually do with them in comparison to a good old muscle car.
