I argee with not comming into a Street/strip section and not telling people to street race. But there is a right way to do it and going 105 threw the middle of a town is not. I hope the next time he tries this in traffic he gets cought. Its one thing to go out on the country road & line em up, or roll up to a stop light with no traffic around. But going 105 down a main street that is a 45 is just stupid.

 

I stand by stock v6 camaros should not be beating turbo eclipse's. these numbers back that up.

I'm not a preacher, just someone who doesn't want any idiots racing up and down his local streets at 105 mph. It's not only illegal, but its irrespnsible. I'm surprised that a moderator would make a statement like you did. Promoting or endorsing street racing like this is just wrong.

I'm about to do it the right way, by the way. It's a nice night and I'll be crusing in my 9-second Camaro (have you ever even taken a ride in a nine second car, kid?).I know I'll get some challenges, butwhen I find and set up a race, we'll take it to the track.

Those numbers are pretty impressive for what it is. But Ive driven a bolt on 3.8 faster than many of those times (not the 14.9) However, that had 3.08 gearing. A Y87 Camaro with only free mods (may have had DRs) has run in the 14s before. And a stock Y87 3.8 can stay within a few tenths of all of those times, so it is certainly possible for a decent driver in the maro to beat an eclipse.

Remember, I never said a 3.8 Should beat it I only said they are capible of doing so. Which they certainly are.

Acully you said a V6 should not beat a turbo eclipse, when in reality the slightest difference in luanch could decided the race. I'll admit the eclipse is faster on paper. But I have raced and beaten so many cars that are "sapposed" to be faster than me. The Drivers are really the most important part of a car, and when they are this close in performence, the slower car certainly has a good chance at winning.

 

i must be hell of a driver, back when i had a 89 civic si that did 16 flat, i beat up every v6 auto camaro and mustang.

 

Well, I cannot say how good of a driver you are but seeing as how every V6 mustang before 2005, and all the V6 camaros before the 3.8 ran in the 16s. I dont doubt that.

 

To mr. willis...please fill us in on your 9 second camaro. i see you have 400hp+nos, how big shot are you running to make your 9 second pass?

 

His sig means 408 small block motor. He is probly making more that 400 hp baised on how much money he has put into his other cars.
