T56 vs TH400 vs Built A4
Well the forum has been a little slow the last few days so i figured i would post something a little different. With my stock A4 is still running strong but with a little more under the hood and a little extra stickiness its only a matter of time now . I have been debating this for over a year and a half now and to be truthful expected the A4 to give a long time ago[>:]. So i wanted to see what every one else thinks. Yes in the end it comes down to personal preference for the most part. Keep in mind that this is a weekend car that is more street then track based. But does hit the track probably 2 weekends out of every month.
First up you have the T56. 6 speeds with a heavy clutch and fly wheel.
Second swapping over to a TH400.
Finlay you have RPM's stage 5 A4
Also keep in mind that power levels on this car are very mild. Around 425 HP and 500 Torque.

RE: T56 vs TH400 vs Built A4
The T56 has a terrible first gear ratio for launching, and they are not really that strong. I broke mine with less than 400 rwhp.
The TH400 is a good choice if you make HUGE power, but you will not have a lockup converter so if you want an agressive stall speed, your street driving will suffer.
4L60E is what I am running now, it is 100% bone stock (other than the Yank 400) and it has held up fine for me so far (about 2 years of racing 1-2 times per month and lots of street driving). For the power levels your at a FLT Stage 4 would be more than enough, I think they run around $1900ish.

Not that poles are working yet, but hey, it's good in thought.
I would stick with the A4, you'll be faster on the track with it if you have a high stall in it, and although it's not quite as fun to dive, it's a little easier for a DD if you're in stop-and-go traffic.
