Default '67 with TH400?

Hey guys, I'm lookin at getting a '67 in trade and it has no motor/trany. I happen to have a good SBC & TH400 out of a '67 C20 truck.

Would that work?

yes
What was the car set up for originally? You will need small block frame mounts and a TH400 cross member but get the cross member for a firebird. There is no off set, the camaro th400 crossmember was off set to the pass side to allow room for a big block.

I think it had SBC, I don't remember what he said on the phone.

Thanks for the crossmember tip.

Would ya know if the drive line would fit? It might make more sense to get a th350

Driveline meaning engine & Trans, yes. You can get just about any combo to work with the right parts. As far as the TH350 vs TH400 I would choose a TH350 for a small block install. They're lighter and rob less HP to operate. I just finished swapping out my TH350 for a TH400 after blowing out the trans at the end of last year but mine is behind a 396bbc. It was a pretty straight forward swap (you'll get all kinds of opinions on whats "better"). I would see what comes with the 67 (drive shaft, cross member, shifter, linkage, mounts, ect) and that will tell you how hard or easy the install will be.
